Export Training

With the cooperation and assistance of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), DGNED established its vital Indonesia Export Training Center in Jakarta in 1990 to improve exporter’s knowledge, skills and competitiveness.

IETC offers various training programs both short term (1-7 days) and long term (1-2 months) which are designed by experienced practitioners and IETC instructors by focusing on the trade issues to fulfill the real business needs.

Among lectures, discussion, QA, the training methods are face to face and distance learning through TV conference system which is conducted locally and internationally. International DISTANCE LEARNING program has already conducted since 1999 which linked IETC (Jakarta) with Osaka, Tokyo, Washington DC, South of Africa, China, France, Egypt and ASEAN countries. Domestic distance learning is connected from IETC (Jakarta) to Surabaya, Medan, Makassar and Banjarmasin to reach Indonesian SME’s located in regions.

DGNED, in cooperation with JICA, has subsequently established Regional Export Training and Promotion Centers (RETPC) in Surabaya (East Java), Medan (North Sumatra), Makassar (South Sulawesi), Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan), and Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara).

IETC in collaboration with domestic and foreign professional practitioners, officials in the field of export-import, CBI the Netherlands and TFO Canada  in preparing a comprehensive curriculum and applicable in accordance with the needs of the business world. Cooperation with TFO Canada has even started to be realized in form of organizing coaching program, which is for the IECT alumnae, especially for women export business, so they can perform independently and planned export. 

Besides that,  IETC  has  formed  a Professional Certification Agency Export -Import Indonesia (LSP EII) under license from the National Board of  Professional Certification  (BNSP)  which  is  an independent and professional in carrying out standardization, testing and certification of competency  for professionals in  the field of  export - import. Certificates issued LSP EII is testament to the recognition of one’s competence in the field of import export.

Since its establishment in 1990 IETC has trained more than 45.000 participants. There comes from various sectors mainly from state-owned company, exporters, private company, SME’s and Government Institution. In the year of 2000 IETC was awarded as one of the members of Center of Excellences (COE) in the framework of ASEAN Economic Ministry (AEM) – Ministry of Economic Trade and Industry (METI) Japan, one of the activities is to design common curricula in International Trade. Moreover, in 2004 IETC was awarded JICA Award by JICA – Japan and received Certificate System Quality Management ISO 9001: 2000. And in the year 2008, IETC award win an excellent Public Service Award from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and also in the year 2009, IETC received BNSP award. This achievement is expected to provide strong motivation for improving the quality and competitiveness of small and medium business of Indonesia in ASEAN and international levels.
