Indonesia Nation Branding Through Java Jazz Festival 2012

In 2012, the Ministry of Trade is in synergy with the various parties to support the implementation of JJF to be held at 2 to 4 March 2012, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Jakarta. This agenda is now now recognized as one of the largest jazz festival in the world.

Indonesia has the potential for extraordinary music, from folk music to contemporary music. Indonesian jazz musicians produce a unique work of reference for the music that is very rich in Indonesia. Through this we can show the world that 'Indonesia is Remarkable' through the works of jazz music of the nation. In addition, through music in JJF 2012 Indonesia is expected to more recognized and accepted by music lovers, as well as to promote Indonesia as a cultured nation with all its potential.

In this year, Ministry of Trade in collaboration with the Java Festival Production, presents the Hall of World Music in the area of Hall B2. The stage were given the opportunity for Indonesian musicians to perform and collaborate with musicians of the world, such as Donny Suhendra featuring Trie Utami, Chris Standring, Sierra Soetedjo, Alfredo Rodriguez Trio, Jopie Item, Box featuring Nabrassan, and Carl Allen. With the collaboration it is expected to emerge new ideas and the spirit of Indonesia to the other musicians to produce better work.

In addition to presenting the stage of The Hall of World Music, Ministry of Trade also display in the pavilion area of 100 m2 exhibition area. This pavilion featuring traditional instruments kolintang, as well as Indonesia's creative industries featuring products such as guitars musical instruments (guitar Ivee and G n B Batik guitar), and fiddle (violin Madani), as well as a variety of products from fashion and other creative products (Batten Clothing - winner RBK contest PPKI 2011).

HKI also re-presented the clinic (in collaboration with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights Ministry of Justice and Human Rights). This clinic aims to help provide information and consultation about IPR for Indonesia creative industry.

JJF 2012 supported more than 1,000 local and foreign musicians to deliver world-class musical performances on stage 19, among other Dewa Bujana, Dira Sugandi, and Shandi Sandhoro, as well as international musicians such as Erikah Badu, Stevie Wonder, and Bobby Mc Ferrin.

"From the number and the names of the musicians who will be present, no doubt that this festival is one of the best festivals not only in Indonesia, but also in the world. We are very proud since 2008 until today has become part of the success of this festival, "said Minister Gita.
